Cowboys cut struggling kicker Maher, sign Forbath
The Dallas Cowboys cut struggling placekicker Brett Maher and signed free agent Kai Forbath, team writer Nick Eatman confirmed Monday.
Maher converted just 67% of his 30 field-goal attempts for Dallas this season, the worst mark among full-time NFL kickers. He missed one kick in Thursday's defeat to the Chicago Bears and both of his field-goal tries during a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Forbath was signed by the New England Patriots for their Week 13 game against the Houston Texans. He made a 23-yard field goal but missed one of two extra-point attempts and was released when the Pats' regular kicker, Nick Folk, recovered from an appendectomy.
