Major dual-boot issue with new Dell Inspiron 5676
by binkyd from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4WG87)
As in, I can't get it done.
First thing is that the BIOS layout on this box does not match anything I can find anywhere - even at Dell - so confusion has a head start.
I got it to boot from USB, after changing all the "secure boot" and "legacy" stuff, and then ran a Linux install, which failed with an error something about "no boot sector" on the Windows disk... but I can't get back there to write it down, because now the box outright refuses to boot unless all the settings are back in place for Windows. If I change them the same as before, and try to boot from a stick, it just hangs, until I reboot back in to BIOS and fix them.
What on earth have I done here? Does anybody know? What other info can I lay out here?
