Lamar Jackson set a new single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback Thursday in the first quarter against the New York Jets, surpassing Michael Vick's 1,039 yards in 2006.

The Baltimore Ravens' signal-caller entered Thursday Night Football 23 yards shy of the mark.

It took Jackson 155 carries to eclipse the record. Vick finished his historical campaign with the Atlanta Falcons 13 years ago with 123 rushing attempts.

Jackson continued to cement his MVP season Thursday, throwing for five touchdowns in a big win that clinched the AFC North for Baltimore.

He's rushed for a total of 1,103 yards on the year, and spoke briefly after the game about breaking Vick's record:

The 32nd overall pick in the 2018 draft has led the Ravens to a 12-2 record, posting a league-leading 33 touchdowns against six interceptions.
