Default install of old Slackware SSL issues
by y33t from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4WJSR)
Hi all :),
I am testing Slackware64-13.37 for some reasons but there are security related drawbacks at usage after installtion. I updated the whole system now browsers are at the latest version but the error persists. When I try to visit a web page (pages are not trivial, slackbuilds.org connects just fine but python.org isn't...) firefox throws "Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap". When I looked the reason for this I understood what was going on but whatever I did, did not solve the issue. On the other hand not only the browsers, console based (like wget, pip etc.) are effected as well. I install the default official version from a mirror and it is unexpected to get these errors from a default install. The error does not persist at 14.2 or on current but on 13.37.
I would be glad if I could resolve this issue by the insight of the more experienced and focused people.
Cheers,
