Seahawks' Carroll says Wagner sprained ankle vs. Panthers
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said linebacker Bobby Wagner suffered a sprained ankle against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, according to Seahawks reporter John Boyle.
The star defender left his club's Week 15 tilt with seven minutes remaining and didn't return.
Carroll added that Wagner wasn't cleared to return and that he doesn't know the severity of the injury yet, per ESPN's Jessamyn McIntyre.
The Seahawks' leading tackler this season said he was fine in his postgame press conference, according to Gregg Bell of The News Tribune.
The 29-year-old Wagner posted 10 tackles, one interception, and two passes defended in his team's 30-24 victory over Carolina.
Fellow safety Quandre Diggs also suffered a sprained ankle against the Panthers. Carroll said Diggs' injury looked more serious than Wagner's, according to Boyle.
