kernel-firmware 20191108: error loading ath10k-pci
by perbh from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4WXHV)
I have an asus-f556u with an atheros wifi-chip. It has worked perfectly until it was updated with kernel-firmware-20191108. Now it cannot load the module because it is no longer recognized.
For daily use, I use MX-Linux-18 with atheros-firmware from 20190717 - no problems.
Slackware is my safe-house, it is something I come back to when everything else goes wrong and/or TSHTF.
Obviously, I still have access to the firmware that came with the 4.4.14-kernel, is it safe to go back to that - or are there any inbetween versions? My current kernel is 4.4.202, but this happened with the previous (4.4.14) kernel as well, I just didn't notice because I did an update and immediately went back to MX.
See the attachment for whatever I could dig up ...
