Search for a good menu editor for linux mint

Hello all,
Because the main menu after installation, but especially after installing software is a big mess, I want to install a menu editor. The included menu editors were all useless because they did not show the current menu layout, or because changes were not made, or were set incorrectly. So now I am looking for a menu editor that does its job well. Does anyone have an idea which menu editor is the best? I would like to hear from you. Sincerely, Karel.
