Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam downplayed the recent report about his club's interest in former Florida and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.

"Right now we're just focusing on people with NFL coaching experience," he said in his press conference Thursday, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot.

Haslam said the Browns will hire a head coach and then involve the new hire in the selection of the next general manager, according to Cabot.

Cleveland parted ways with first-year head coach Freddie Kitchens and general manager John Dorsey after a disappointing 6-10 campaign in 2019.

Potential suitors reportedly on Cleveland's radar include Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Ravens OC Greg Roman, Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy, Bills OC Brian Daboll, and 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. The Browns interviewed former Packers coach Mike McCarthy on Thursday.
