As Matt Rhule continues to fill out his coaching staff with the Carolina Panthers, one coach from the college ranks is being rumored as a potential fit.

Rhule is considering LSU passing game coordinator and receivers coach Joe Brady for Carolina's offensive coordinator position, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Brady is one of the most sought-after coaches in college football after playing a major role during Joe Burrow's development into a Heisman-winning quarterback.

LSU led the nation in points per game and yards per contest this season, and the school will face off with Clemson in Monday's national championship game.

The Tigers reportedly worked out an extension with Brady, but it hasn't been signed yet because the 30-year-old may want to return to the NFL, Rapoport adds. He was an offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints from 2017 to 2018, and Brady has been linked to a role on Don Martindale's staff if the Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator receives a head coaching job this year.

However, during Saturday's national championship media day, Brady denied being interested in an NFL move.

"I haven't been contacted by anybody," he said, according to Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel. "It's something that I haven't even thought of."

The Panthers hired Rhule on Tuesday, and they're expected to make Phil Snow their defensive coordinator after he held the same position at Baylor.
