Double sided printing problem

I am printing to a Brother double sided printer using cups. In cups the printer is set as default to single sided.
However, when I print the print dialog is always defaulting at double sided short edge flip which is the worst possible option. I have to always go to the dialog to change settings everytime I print.

How do I get this to default the way I want it?
