mounting external raid disk

A Western Digital My Book World Edition was connected to my network.
Probably due to a technical defect, I could no longer approach this.
And also doesn't start anymore.
To be able to access the data on the disk, I dismantled it and then connected it to my linux netbook via a sata-usb cable because information showed that it was pre-formatted as a linux file system.
Because I have never mounted a disk, I have studied it a bit.
The mounting did not work. There was a message that the special device does not exist.
Looking even further, it appeared that the disk has a raid format.
And now I don't know how to mount / access the disk.
