Up front i am very sorry for my previous thread about the difference between, you know what. I still like to understand so i will try to ask it in steps, perhaps that will give me an answer and keep out any flames?

If i have a service file with this contents in it:

Code:PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin
DESC="Some program"
NAME=program
USERNAME=me
PIDFILE=/var/run/$NAME.pid
SCRIPTNAME=/etc/init.d/$NAME <-------Why is the SCRIPTNAME pointed to the program in /etc/init.d/ that does not exist there? Keep in mind that there are 2 different ways to start the program and i choose not init.d . . .

Do i manually need to point it to the program? Or does it not matter? Please help me understand?latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=J0aPGusBJrU:1iS0NoKewVU:F7zBnMy latest?i=J0aPGusBJrU:1iS0NoKewVU:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=J0aPGusBJrU:1iS0NoKewVU:gIN9vFwJ0aPGusBJrU
