NZXT announces new Kraken X and Z AIO coolers
There's only one way to tell how fast, powerful, and performant your computer is. You know the answer: the blinkenlights. Sure, you could benchmark things, or whatever. Or you could put more RGB LEDs into the case. NZXT has announced a Kraken Z and X-series AIO liquid coolers meant to keep your system looking and running as cool as possible without getting into custom loops.
NZXT's latest coolers are the Kraken X-3 and Kraken Z-3. With these coolers, NZXT hopes to address both form and function.
"The CPU cooler is the centerpiece for every PC build," said NZXT CEO Johnny Hou in a statement. "We took great lengths to ensure that the newest generation of Kraken is the most visually-appealing and highest-performing AIO ever."
The X-3 line starts the bottom of the pricing range with the X53, which uses a 240-mm radiator, for $130. Things climb from there. The X63 has a 280-mm radiator for $150, and the X73 offers a 360-mm radiator for $180. The Z-3 series has two coolers: the Z63 has a 280-mm rad for $250, and the Z73 features a 360-mm one for an eye-watering $280.
The X-3 series offers straight-forward LED lighting that you can run through NZXT's CAM software along with all your other NZXT lighting. NZXT says the cap is 10% bigger than the X-2 series. The Z-3 series, meanwhile, offers a full-on LCD screen capable of displaying 24-bit color. NZXT says you can display CPU information or animated gifs.
Oh, it cools, tooAnd just in case you do keep an eye on those numbers, NZXT is promising improvements on the pure performance side, the company is using Asetek's seventh-gen pumps, according to VentureBeat. The company says these new pumps are both quieter and better at cooling. Further, you can rotate the faceplate on both models in 30-degree increments to ensure that the nylon-wrapped rubber tubing never gets in the way.
NZXT's Z-3 and X-3 AIOs are available in the United States right now through the NZXT website. Sites like Amazon and NewEgg are still offering previous models. NZXT says the coolers will be available worldwide next month.
