Screenshot tool not working on Debian buster

I have been wanting to take some screenshots but every time I try the tools just gets a black image instead of whatever I'm trying to capture, I don't think this is related to hardware so I guess writing my specifications is unnecessary, but if someone thinks it may be related I can provide that.

Any idea?
