OpenAL (AlienBob) vs. openal-soft (-current)?
by kgha from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4ZDDQ)
Noticed that with qt5 made part of -current, the package openal-soft is added.
I've had AlienBob's qt5, with his OpenAL package, installed since way back. Should I replace his OpenAL with openal-soft? Or keep it and forget about the new package? Or install both?
EDIT: content seems to be identical in both packages so just a name change. I'll switch to -current, then.
EDIT2: Removing OpenAL and replacing it with openal-soft (using gslapt/slapt-get) also removed Eric's vlc. Two options: keep Eric's package, or replace it and reinstall vlc manually.
Guess Eric will edit the depedency file for vlc soon.
