Compiling big software projects: Virtualbox, Tor browser
by Framu from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4ZDYV)
Fresh off the heels of compiling Libreoffice (about 8 hours for me on my old dual-core Pentium) and Ungoogled-Chromium (about a day to compile), I want to take a stab at two more big ones:
- Virtualbox
- Tor Browser
Has anyone here managed to get Virtualbox to build on Slackware 64-bit?
Also, looking at the source tarball there is some sketchy stuff: Windows .exe files, Java .jar files. I will have to flush that gunk. But I prefer Virtualbox because of the speed over e.g. Qemu. But if there is an alternative I would consider it.
