Can not get my printer hooked up on Ubuntu Server
by miloski from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4ZFPS)
Hey,
this is my first post. My hello world post. :newbie:
No but seriously I can not get my printer to work at all. I have a Samsung M2020 and it turns out that it's what's called a "paper-weight" in the Linux world because it is not going to work.
So I got a new printer, Canon PIXMA 9120. But I can't get it to work.
IT is connected by usb. I installed CUPS and everything else it told me to install but still nothing.
lpinfo: cups-driverd failed to execute
lpoptions: unable to get PPD file for Canon_TS9100_series: The printer or class does not exist
It looks like I need to get a PPD file.
And that's as far as I can get. I don't understand this process
