how to back-up contacts from Hotmail

While doing other back-ups, it occurred to me that backing up my e-mail contacts would also be a good idea.
Gmail was straightforward: Google Apps>Contacts offered a choice of "Import" "Export" and "Print".
I see no similar option for Hotmail. If I go to People, I see the list of contacts,but I see no way to export the data.
Am I missing something obvious?
Note that I am running Linux Mint.
