I'm a computer user since I was 16, and now I'm 56. I started with a TRS-80 Model I and I still have it. Keeping & collecting old computers became a hobby, and I rolled into IT when I was fired from my first occupation as a chemical lab technician. I'm an IT-tech for more than 25 years, now.
When you work n an IT dept., you get apalled by the amount of stuff that is thrown away. I believe we could use our computers much longer, with a little care and another OS. Linux gives that possibility. And it's fun to use.
I got to know Linux as a memmber of the Hobby Coputer Club Be., but never got around to actually using it. Instead I got invlved with OS/2, and later stuck to Windows.
A few yars ago, I decided to use an old machine in dual-boot to do a Java programming course on both OSses. I ended up doing it all on Linux, because it was more fun, the machine reacted better, I had more possibilities, etc... I stuck to Linux and at home, I don't use anything else anymore.
And I've started to try to convince other people to do so also.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=oQ08cDYiIXA:RK9jTmYnPPo:F7zBnMy latest?i=oQ08cDYiIXA:RK9jTmYnPPo:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=oQ08cDYiIXA:RK9jTmYnPPo:gIN9vFwoQ08cDYiIXA
