Report: Lions releasing Damon Harrison
The Detroit Lions are releasing defensive tackle Damon Harrison after two seasons with the club, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Despite recently contemplating retirement, "Snacks" intends to continue his NFL career, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.
Harrison, a first-team All-Pro selection in 2016, is one of the NFL's top run defenders. He recorded 29 tackles and two sacks last season.
Detroit acquired the 31-year-old defender from the New York Giants in October 2018. He spent the first four years of his career with the New York Jets.
The Lions will save $9 million against the salary cap by releasing Harrison, according to Over the Cap.
