Testing "Current" with ktown and multilib
by aikempshall from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4ZP22)
As we appear to getting close to a new release. I'm using "Current" with ktown and multilib a bit more for my production stuff. It's installed in a VirtualBox client. The host is Slackware 14.2.

Two observations -
- we're a Adobe Creative cloud shop with Indesign. On a weekly basis I have to take a pdf that's been created and copy some text. I've historically used Adobe Reader, from SlackBuild.org, for this. As Adobe reader is a bit long in the tooth now, 32 bit and doesn't work at all in current, I've decided to move on. I've looked at Ocular, XPDF, PDF Studio Viewer and Evince. None of them seem a perfect match for my workflow, but I can adapt! Are there any PDF viewers that I've overlooked. I seem to be settling down to using Evince. Early days.
- I've had my Virtual Box client running current hang twice this morning in kde5. Not got a handle yet on noticing what I've done to make it hang. I can get the keyboard to work again in kde5 by tapping the keyboard with the equivalent of <alt> <sysreq> r. Not yet worked out how to get the mouse working again. Note this is only in the Virtual Box client running current. Has anyone any suggestions on what I should try to get the mouse working again. I can get to the virtual consoles so I could try restarting something if I knew what to restart. For the time being I've done a reboot from the Virtual console. I could try to track down what's causing the hanging - I was doing things in either Dolphin or Kate at the time. I'm not too bothered about this as I'm sure that when we get to the new release and I do a fresh install this problem will mysteriously go away.
