Bethesda yanks games from Nvidia GeForce Now
We reported at the beginning of the month that Nvidia had launched GeForce Now, the company's game streaming service. The service boasted a fairly large library, especially in comparison to Google Stadia. However, as the month has progressed, that library has diminished significantly. Only a week after the launch of GeForce Now, Activision Blizzard pulled its entire library from the service, seemingly to the surprise of Nvidia.
Nvidia has now announced that Bethesda Softworks is removing most of its library from GeForce Now, as well. Wolfenstein: Youngblood will remain on the service so gamers can experience it with "RTX On", but the following games have been removed:
" Dishonored
" Dishonored 2
" Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
" Doom
" Everspace
" Fallout 3
" Fallout 76
" Fallout: New Vegas
" Prey
" Quake Champions
" Rage 2
" The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr
" The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
" The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
" The Evil Within 2
" Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
" Wolfenstein: The New Order
" Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
The loss of both Activision Blizzard and Bethesda's games is not good news for Nvidia's GeForce Now, but, as SSK said in response to the Activision Blizzard news, "Odd that there wasn't a longer term licensing agreement." The news regarding GeForce Now hasn't all been bad. In addition to announcing a Cyberpunk 2077-themed RTX 2080 Ti, Nvidia announced that the game will be playable on GeForce Now at launch. However, Cyberpunk 2077 isn't launching until September, so the game's playability on GeForce Now doesn't help the service's current diminishing library.
