The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday confirmed a possible first person-to-person transmission of COVID-19 in California in a patient who is identified as a member of the general public.

The individual is a resident of Solano County, CA. They are receiving medical care in Sacramento County, say state officials.

The individual suspected of being the first person to-person coronavirus transmission had no known exposure to the virus through travel or close contact with a known infected individual, according to the California Department Of Public Health.
