NFL hands out 32 compensatory picks for 2020 draft
The NFL handed out 32 compensatory picks for the 2020 NFL Draft on Tuesday, assigning a league-high four selections to the New England Patriots.
Compensatory picks are awarded based on the caliber of free agents each team lost versus gained the year before. The formula takes salary, playing time, and postseason honors into account. NFL Communications released the data used to determine the 2020 spread of selections, which always begin at the end of the third round.
