ubuntu 18.04lts unity DE. can't find my installed software in " all applications" only can see in software center of ubuntu. why ?

i am still using the same ubuntu that i have problem with DE. , but now instead of using ubuntu on wayland (which got quite a few issues), i use unity on xorg now. but the same problem i have noticed over the time of using is:
I CAN'T FIND MY SOFTWARES in ubuntu all applications

i can only locate this "brightness" software thru ubuntu software center:

why ?
not just that brightness software, there are other several brightness control small software that i have installed thru ubuntu software center , all not show up.
why ?
