Hello everyone.

We have a 2 year Lenovo ideapad 120s-11IAP laptop for basics:

- Browse the web
- watch videos on vlc player
- Make word documents or simple spreadsheets

The performance of this laptop is very poor, that is, we achieve what we set to do, but is pretty slow. Windows has filled the little space avaliable so cannot even update the basics.

We've decided to move to Linux Mint MAte edition as it is a neat little package. Ive installed this all on a 120GB SSD and it is working wonderfully on my desktop. However when I put it into the Lenovo it get the typical boot issues "something has gone wrong" after which it turns off. No amount of messing with the BIOS has helped and it was suggested that the chip/chipset needed to be flashed as it was a lenovo/windows protection issues which prevents me from running the new system. Any one knows how to flash or disable this in windows as to allow linux to run?
