Report: Redskins eyeing 2nd-rounder for Williams
The Washington Redskins' asking price for left tackle Trent Williams starts at a second-round pick, though that's negotiable, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson.
Washington feels "now is the time" to move the disgruntled veteran, Anderson added.
The Redskins reportedly granted Williams permission to seek a trade after their relationship soured over a medical-related dispute. The 31-year-old sat out the entire 2019 campaign.
Washington apparently tried to move Williams prior to the trade deadline during the season but was unable to find a partner willing to give up the desired first-round pick.
The Houston Texans, New York Jets, and Arizona Cardinals are reportedly among the teams interested in acquiring the seven-time Pro Bowler.
Williams is only under contract for the 2020 season, so the team that trades for him will likely also have to hand over a big-money extension.
