GPD Pocket 2 and battery "Waiting to charge"
by rt_clik from LinuxQuestions.org on (#50QNQ)
I have a GPD Pocket 2 running Linux Mint and it's been a perfect little travel companion. For the first time since I've had it, I allowed the battery to run down completely. Now, it seems the battery simply will not charge no matter what I try.
I have attempted connecting several different charging cables to the USB-C charging port on the device and charging while the machine is completely shut-off, and nothing seems to work. Looking at the power stats, the battery appears to be in good health, but is perpetually trapped in a "Waiting to charge" state. Since it is running Linux exclusively, I don't have the luxury of booting into Windows to see if I can get it to charge there.
I have tried everything obvious, so am now looking for inspiration from someone to help kick-start the charging process.
