Ralink RT3290LE Connection Failed Ubuntu 18.04 & 19.10

Wireless connection fails at random times on each of two different routers even when close to router with strong signal. Started happening a few weeks ago after operating without failure for months. Automatic retry typically not successful. Will reset to functional after suspend or restart.
