Permissions problem running game GOG Ion Fury

This was on sale so I grabbed it as it runs on Linux. It works as root and id I use sudo to start the game. So I know it has something to do with permissions.

Not sure what.

This is what happens

Any ideas what it needs?

I did have to install SDL2_mixer to get it to run.
