a samsung laser printer

I have had a printer on all my computers a Amiga(still got) and a xp(still got) and my laptop(still got, but now its running Linux mint)
I have a Samsung Xpress M2026w laser mono printer, which i cant get to work, some nice chap on here said try HP driver, but it did not work, why ?
When I plug the lead into the laptop from my printer it finds a driver M2020 series, but it dont work.
This is getting frustrating, as i need to print each day a lot. What i am doing at the moment is copy my text to a flash drive, load it into my xp computer, convert it, and then print, it does print, but only after a long time.
Can someone please help me, if i had any hair i would have pulled it all out my now.
