Jameis Winston is a quarterback without a team.

After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Tom Brady and other potential suitors decided to pass on Winston, the former No. 1 pick is playing the waiting game. The Jacksonville Jaguars are the favorites to sign Winston, but a couple of other teams with longer odds make more sense.

TeamOdds
Jacksonville Jaguars+200
New Orleans Saints+325
Miami Dolphins+350
Denver Broncos+550
New England Patriots+750
Washington Redskins+900
Pittsburgh Steelers+1000
Las Vegas Raiders+1100
Los Angeles Chargers+1500
New Orleans Saints +325

The Jaguars are the favorites but find themselves in a clear rebuild mode, so it's unlikely the team will give Winston a big contract. If he has to settle for a one-year deal, a team like the Saints makes more sense. No, New Orleans isn't currently an ideal fit on paper with starter Drew Brees and backup Taysom Hill already on the roster. However, the Saints are Super Bowl contenders, and after losing Teddy Bridgewater to Carolina, it could be tempting to sign Winston for a year to back up Brees while Hill continues to develop. With a starting job no longer a realistic possibility, Winston is more likely to land as a valuable backup for a playoff contender.

New England Patriots +750

The Patriots were once the favorites to sign Winston, but New England was never a great fit. Bill Belichick isn't a fan of mistakes, and Winston has been a turnover machine over his career, leading the NFL with 30 interceptions last season. Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels look for certain tendencies that fit their system like delivering the ball quickly and not giving points away in the red zone. Neither of those describes Winston's style of play. There's always a chance that the Patriots could pounce if Winston's market hits rock bottom, but don't bet on it. It simply doesn't add up.

Pittsburgh Steelers +1000

The Pittsburgh Steelers lurk further down the oddsboard at 10-1. Pittsburgh is set at starter with Ben Roethlisberger, but Big Ben is 38 years old, coming off a serious elbow injury, and apparently in the mix to become the next Santa Claus.

The Steelers don't have much behind the aging Roethlisberger. Winston would be an upgrade over current backup Mason Rudolph, who struggled at times while filling in last season. Roethlisberger and Winston have similar styles, which makes the 10-1 odds even more intriguing. Each quarterback likes to push the ball down the field, so Pittsburgh wouldn't need to change its offensive philosophy if Big Ben can't return to health.

Pittsburgh appears to be a more likely landing spot for Winston than some teams with shorter odds like the Patriots and Denver Broncos (+550), making it the best bet on the board.
