Report: Jaguars, Eifert agree to 2-year deal
The Jacksonville Jaguars and free-agent tight end Tyler Eifert have agreed on a two-year contract, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Eifert has spent his entire seven-year career with the Cincinnati Bengals. He reached the Pro Bowl in 2015 after a career year in which he caught 52 passes for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns. He hasn't been able to replicate those numbers, however.
From 2016-18, Eifert battled injuries and appeared in just 14 games. He got in a full 16-game slate in 2019 and turned it into 43 receptions for 436 yards and three scores.
The 29-year-old would bring some veteran leadership to a Jaguars pass-catching group that leans heavily on youngsters such as DJ Chark, Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, and Keelan Cole.
