[SOLVED] New install: Virtualbox run fails: Critical Error: Virtualbox COM object
by maschelsea from LinuxQuestions.org on (#51E1G)
I reinstalled slackware 14.2 last week. I've almost got it back to working order. I have successfully installed virtualbox, but when I run it I get a tiny box that appears on the screen with these contents:
Code:
Failed to create the VirtualBoxClient COM object.
The application will now terminate.
Callee RC: NS_BASE_STREAM_WOULD_BLOCK (0x80470007)I read over a help page from Oracle, which didn't help. Can anyone here help me with this issue? I copied my VMs to another disc drive before I started my reinstall, so they should be fine, unless this turns out to be one of those things where I can't simply reinstall and expect my data to still be there. Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer anything that will lead to the successfully solving of this issue.
