ISP problems
by bifferos from LinuxQuestions.org on (#51RP7)
My ISP blocks a whole range of websites with a message "Secure Connection Failed". It also seems to block port 22 access to github :-/. I've raised both these issues with them a couple of times, they told me they'd be contacting me about it. Now I've just phoned them a third time and a recorded message has told me they won't be dealing with any issues except complete lack of connectivity due to covid-19 and reduced staffing levels, blah blah blah...
I wondered if I should invest in a VPN subscription to get around this, at least in the short term. I currently run a Slackware router with hostapd, dnsmasq and I'd like all machines on my network to use the VPN. My connection speed is about 40mbps, and I'm looking for a VPN provider/software setup that will just focus on speed. I don't care about privacy, what gets logged or any of the other things VPN users generally seem to care about.
Recommendations please?
thanks!
