How to install audio drivers when sound settings say Dummy Output?

Hi,
very newbie here. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop with Ubuntu 14.04.6 LTS installed. I realize that the internet connectivity only works at 2 GHz ( not 5 GHz ), but I'll have to put up with that. But I can't get the sound card to work. The audio device is Intel Corp 22b5 (rev 21). So I know it has audio, but I can't here anything.
Any help much appreciated ( even sending me to the right part of the forum ),
