Move window buttons to left

I generally prefer to have the window buttons (minimize, maximize, close) on the top left of the window, as this usually involves less cursor travel to reach the buttons.

I found a post from Jeff from almost 10 years ago that mentions the possibility of decompiling the theme and altering relevant scripts, and I had a look at a theme on Github, but it wasn't obvious to me what was specifying the button position.

Is it possible to get any guidance about how to go about achieving this?
