Trying to install Kingsoft WPS office on peppermint 8

WPS - office - I have downloaded the debian package from the Kingsoft site and installed. All goes well until after user agreement screen, then nothing on clicking icon? I have also tried downloading via terminal and using the snap package version and via software manager. Is this software viable? It seems to have been successfully used by other linux users. (Linux peppermint 8 64 bit).
