Our BDFL deserves WAY better than that- ways to monetize and economize Slackware

Hello everybody (especially Slackware users), I was thinking about ways to improve our BDFL's situation. I know, many of you have like me contributed and donated to Slackware and the cause. But I believe, that human nature tends to be lazy and easy. So, I would like to dedicate this thread to thoughts how to improve the situation and not least the financial well-being of our BDFL.

Today, I once again installed Slackware (current) to a new machine, once again knowing that it will be a practical perfect system - with state of the art software, installed within 30 minutes, configured within another 20 minutes and then running for whatever you may imagine, reliably, solidly, efficiently, powerfully.

The one, who composed this all was Mr. Patrick Volkerding, his team and supporters. So my thoughts again are, what can we do as general Slackware users and promoters to support this brilliant gentleman.

I appreciate the frankness that mentioned problems like the fixing of the roof, the fixing of the car tire and the health expenses.

But what can we do besides the regular donations here and there? I don't think that's enough. Our BDFL deserves WAY better than that! There must be another way. There must be an elegant way to support this gentleman and his family to life and the prosperity he deserves with this incomparable and unrivaled operating system.

I am not an IT professional but I hope a lot of IT professionals have an idea how to establish a solid income for the genial, altruistic computer scientist Patrick Volkerding and his family (cordial thanks to them for supporting their husband and father!). There may be possibilities besides donations like support, consulting, official merchandise (already ongoing), branding, documentation and so on.

I hope that many ideas will arise and will be communicated.

Thanks in advance for all your thoughts and inputs.
