Expanding the Filesystem
by Peppercorn from LinuxQuestions.org on (#52WYE)
I am helping a friend who has a Ubuntu server running on Digital Ocean. The hard drive is 100% full so, he bought extra 70gig of space and now, I'm trying to expand the filesystem. So far unsuccessfully.
The help docs explain to use the reiser2fs command on the initial hard drive which I have done. The next command to verify that the extra space is available is df -h -x tmpfs -x devtmpfs
but the extra space doesn't show up. I've located the extra 70 gig lurking as /dev/sda which is unmounted. I just don't know what to do next and Digital Ocean help and support seem asleep at best. Can anyone advise me please? thanks in advance.
