Alien's Plasma build - unable to assign keyboard shortcuts with Meta key
by alekow from LinuxQuestions.org on (#52XRD)
Hi!
I recently installed slackware-current on a laptop and decided to give Alien's plasma a try for the first time. I have encountered a few minor bugs, one of them being the inability to set some keyboard shortcuts.
I usually change task switcher keys as follows:
Quote:
This doesn't work, ie. the shortcut doesn't get assigned. I cannot click Apply to save, after switching to another submenu and switching back to Task Switcher the shortcuts are still at whatever they were before assigning new ones.
I also assign a custom shortcut for Konsole: Quote:
This one does get saved, but I can't use it, ie. the key combination doesn't work.
I tried assigning the shortcuts in latest Ubuntu as well and it works, but not 100% as expected: I can use the Meta+Tab and Meta+Shift+Tab combinations but I cannot cycle between windows, that means I can use it once, but after releasing the Tab key and pressing it again with the Meta key pressed all the time it doesn't move to another window. Custom shortcut for Konsole works as expected.
Can somebody try to reproduce this?
Freshly installed slackware-current from 30.04.2020, full install minus kde and kdei, latest Plasma from ktown installed manually with all the dependencies.
Regards,
Alex

I usually change task switcher keys as follows:
Quote:
Go to System Settings -> Window Management -> Task Switcher, under Main tab change Shortcuts, All Windows to Meta+Tab for forward switching to Meta+Shift+Tab for reverse switching. |
I also assign a custom shortcut for Konsole: Quote:
right click Application Launcher icon -> Edit Applications, then go to System -> Konsole, choose Advanced tab and assign Meta+K, click Save. |
