Another Linux controlled update, leaves me with no linux

Hi Folks,
Another flaky update to Suse LEAP 15.1!
After the update, the reboot seems to go well.
I choose 15.1 from the options as I normally do and the 'clenching begins, as it normally does.
Instead of a gui resulting, I get what is shown in the first picture attached.
I have a couple of pictures that might help to figure out where I go from here. They are from different reboots and seem quite different.
I can boot a live linux from a usb but dont have a lot of experience in delving, however, if there were logs that would help understand what has happened and how to correct the situation, I'd appreciate you telling me where they are.
