USB connected UPS keeps connecting/disconnecting

Hey all, wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this? I have Dynamix UPS connected via USB. But it won't stay connected, i.e. its there as a device then disappears. DMESG is spammed with disconnect, and new USB device messages.
If I connect it to a Windows OS it works fine. So its not a hardware issue, or cable issue.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to get this solved it would be appreciated.
