KDE partition manager fails help!

I tried to format a USB flashdrive and I told the partitioner to create a new partition table in the drive and then I told the partitioner to format the drive to ext4. When I hit apply an error message appears saying that the KDE partition manager failed to create the new partition table.

I used cinnamon for some months and never had problems doing this kind of things, GParted and Disks always worked flawlessly.

What do I do wrong to cause that error ?
