Man shot early Monday morning in Stoney Creek
Hamilton police say a man who was targeted in an early morning shooting in Stoney Creek is not co-operating with the investigation.
Emergency crews were called just after 3:30 a.m., May 11, for reports of a shooting near Lake Avenue Drive and King Street East. A man in his early 20s was found at the scene with non-life-threatening lower-body injuries. He was taken to hospital.
Police believe moments before being shot, the victim was inside a residence near Lake and King streets. After coming outside, he was involved in an altercation with unknown parties."
A stretch of Lake Avenue Drive, near King, was closed for several hours Monday morning for the investigation. The scene was released before 9:30 a.m.
Detectives from the division two criminal investigation branch continue to investigate the incident and are asking area residents to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.

The shooting is one of 16 in Hamilton so far this year, including four deaths. There were 47 shootings in Hamilton in 2019, with eight deaths.
