update-mime-database runs for 40 seconds

With slackware64-current on a computer with hard disks, I am seeing 40 seconds of disk activity on every boot coming from update-mime-database.

The disk activity makes starting up X rather slow. Moreover, the update is unnecessary.

As a workaround, I have removed execute permission. A permanent solution would be to make update-mime-database a cron job.
