Teen suspect sought in Gage Park robbery
Hamilton police are asking the public for help finding a suspect after a robbery in Gage Park Thursday evening where a man suffered minor injuries to his upper body.
Shortly before 7 p.m. May 14, the victim was exercising in the north-west corner of the park, at 1000 Main St. E., when a male he did not know approached him and struck up a conversation, police said.
The suspect then demanded the victim turn over property, and when he didn't get anything, he allegedly assaulted the victim with an unknown weapon. The suspect fled before police arrived.
The victim was treated by Hamilton paramedics and later taken to hospital.
The suspect is described as male, between 13 and 16, with a medium complexion. He wore a black hoodie and a black face mask.
The east end criminal investigation branch is investigating. Police were expected to be canvassing in the area Friday.
Anyone with information is asked to call Acting Det. Sgt. Christian Mukendi at 905-546-2907 or Acting Det. Caroline Wojtasik at 905-546-2406.
