When will the sun shine on Hamilton this Victoria Day long weekend?
A special weather statement, warning of heavy rain in Hamilton, has ended Friday morning just in time for the first long weekend amid COVID-19.
The forecast is a mixed bag for the Victoria Day break.
Friday can't make up its mind. Expect a mix of sun and showers with a risk of thunderstorms for the remainder of the day. The temperature will reach a high of 17 C. Tonight's low is 9 C.
The sun will make its real debut Saturday.
Fog is expected early on in the day but will melt away to a blissful high of 19 C. The UV index will be 8 or very high. The night low on Saturday is expected to be 6 C.
Sunday brings May showers and a daily high of only 12 C. Rain is expected throughout the night with a low of 10 C.
The holiday Monday is also set to be a soggy one. Cloudy conditions are expected with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 11 C.
This particular weekend is a big deal for local gardeners and nurseries. Area businesses are open with restrictions in place to keep physical distancing.
Don't bother planning a fireworks display - there is a residential ban on fireworks and sparklers. There is, however, a virtual fireworks show to check out.
