Need Help. Getting login incorrect

Hi,
I am totally new to Linux. I just started learning linux. I installed virtual box. I installed Cent OS 7 in the virtual box. I created my credentials when installing the Cent OS. However, when i try to login with my username, i am getting login incorrect message. How do i fix this ? Please advise
