Format SSD

In 2005 I bought Toshiba Satellite A 100 laptop with HDD 750Mb RAM 3Gb. This year I replace the HHD with a new SSD 256 Gb.
I had downloaded on my HP laptop a Linux file .iso which I saved on a DVD. With the DVD Linux expanded I loaded the Toshiba. Linux works very well and the speed is acceptable. The HP is of 2015 and has 16Gb RAM.
I bought a SSD 1Tb and cloned the HDD of my HP on it. The HP now is much faster than with the HDD.
Then I made a mistake!
I wanted to run dual-boot Linux alongside Win 10 and at the moment both OS works. The HP with Win 10 still has the same speed as before but the Linux compare with the Linux Toshiba is very slow and not really workable.
Since the Toshiba in giving a good speed I will use it to familiarise with Linux 19.3
I used a Simplecom (.com.au) SD322 dual bay docking station to do the cloning. I still have the original HP HDD and want to reuse it to re-clone the SSD to Win 10.
The SSD 1Tb on the HP has a few partitions and one for the Linux.
My questions are: -

Should the SSD be cleared/formatted before the re-cloning?
If so, could I use the Toshiba with the Linux or the HP Win 10 with the HDD to clear/format the SSD 1Tb?
Should I anticipate a problem by putting back the original HDD to the HP
